Tonight, E! debuted Sex, Cries and Videotape, a countdown of the Top 50 Chick Flicks of all time. I mistakenly missed the first 1.5 hours of this two hour television extravaganza but was able to catch the Top Ten.

Here's an analysis:
- Of the top ten, I've seen 10.
- Of the top ten, I can name the actors who played the main characters for 10.
- Of the top ten, I've seen 10 more than once.
- Of the top ten, I've seen 10 more than twice.
- Of the top ten, I've seen 7 more times than I can count.
- Of the top ten, I own 7. Note: these are not, by any means, the only chick flicks I own.
- Of the 7 I own, comments have been made (by non-chicks) about 7 of them (making these same 7 the reason I now own such films as The Usual Suspects).
- Of the top ten, I can do the boy thing and recite lines for 5.
- Of the top ten, I cried during 5.
- Of the top ten, I saw 4 at the movie theater.
- Of the top ten, I saw 3 without "permission" (I saw Pretty Woman at oldest friend's birthday party when I was 13. Her oldest sister took us to Blockbuster. I was very apprehensive and anxious, knowing it was Rated R. Sister looked me in the eye and said, "Lala, do you know that prostitution is bad?" I replied, duh, affirmatively. She said, "Then I see no problem." Ha.)
Now I'm curious to see how many of the top 50 I've seen/love/own. And which of my other favorites didn't make it to E!'s list. If anyone can find a published list, send it my way. Though I'm sure E! will be replaying it over and over and over again.

Dude. I can't believe Beaches won. "Pretty Woman" and "Dirty Dancing" are WAAAY better. ...I'd be interested to see if Colin Firth's "Pride and Prejudice" made the list.
I-66--you must clearly be a guy! I've seen all 10 of top 10 and cried at at least 7-8 of them. I must tivo this E! special! Guarens I've seen them all.
alert: before i went to bed last night, i scrolled through my guide and found another showing (of the 12334234 that will play this week) and set the dvr...so i can have a complete list soon. sara, i bet we've seen 85% at least. :)
