It's her fault...
...that I'm a nerd. Let's blame it on Ramona Quimby, age 8. That was the first chapter book I ever read. And I loved Ramona. She was awesome. Don't try to deny it, you loved her, too. You hated Beezus. You wanted Howie to be your best friend. You got a stomach ache thinking about puking from fruit flies. You didn't understand why "The Dawnzer lee light" was wrong. You wished you were cool enough to name your doll Chevrolet. You wanted to live on Klickikat Street.
Less scandalous than Judy Blume, that's for sure. Ha, we used to read Forever under the tree on the playground.

i deny all the of the above...though i will admit i did put the "i must..i must...increase my bust" exercises from Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret.
oh and i did secretly want the ramona pixie cut...and i had the ramona quimby diary.
Umm-- can i get a shout out for Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing and Where the Sidewalk Ends (RIP Shel)
On a side (and equally as nerdy note) note, I would like to discuss favorite words. Mine are below:
1) Schadenfreude- Pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others
2) Accoutrement- Outward forms of recognition; trappings: cathedral ceilings, heated swimming pools, and other accoutrements signaling great wealth.
I wanted to be Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield so bad and have a boyfriend named Todd. And a fiat and a lavaliere from my dad Ned. Ugh, damn you Sweet Valley high.
i read those, too. come on, is there a book i DIDNT read (more than once). superfudge??!! (still own a copy). blubber??!!
how do you pronounce shadenfreude correctly...i need phonetics...i must add that to my vocabulary.
and don't forget being a perfect size 6.
